This trip, led by a naturalist on a private yacht called the Alta, is the perfect way to experience the many wonders that are unique to the Galapagos Islands. Families will have close encounters with a myriad of creatures including land iguanas, sea lions and penguins. Kids and parents will also enjoy a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, snorkelling and kayaking,

This departure is offering special “Kids Club” activities like star-gazing and movie nights. Each child will receive a kid’s expedition journal for tracking wildlife sightings and making notes. A collection of board games and special kid’s menus round out the family-friendly experience.

Prices: $4595 (US) – this includes a $300 holiday surcharge; Fuel surcharge: $223 (US) per person. Prices are per person based on double occupancy and don’t include airfare from Toronto to Quito, Ecuador.

Getting there: the best way for families to get to Ecuador from Toronto is to go via Miami ( a three-hour flight). From Miami it is another four hours to Quito. Air Canada also flies into Quito via Bogota, Colombia.
