Looking for a great way to spend a family day on the beach?   Well. look no further.  Parents and kids can enter an amateur sandcastle competition or watch the “sandmasters” work their magic at Cobourg’s 3rd Annual Sandcastle Festival on Saturday August 2nd and Sunday August 3rd, 2008.

“Our Master Sculptors will wow the crowd again at this year’s event,” says Event Coordinator Lara Scott “it never ceases to amaze me what sculptor’s creative minds and creative ideas can do with a pile of sand.”

There will also be a treasure hunt, music, a rock wall and a 30 ft waterslide along with other activities the whole family will enjoy.  The day will wind up with a showing of the animated family feature Surf’s Up, as part of the Movies in the Park series taking place right on the beach.  The fun continues on August 3rd with all of the masterpieces, amateur and professional, being available for viewing all day.
